Party Time!

My step-son Chandler, had his 6th Birthday this past weekend. On Sunday morning, I, Landon and Austin were up and ready to get the day started but Chandler was still sleeping. About 8:30am I decided I couldn't take it any longer and needed him to get up! So Austin woke brother up with a happy birthday balloon hitting him in the head lol We all yelled, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! and he woke up with a smile. The day had started!

This day was not only speical because it was his actaully birthday but it was also the first time in three years that his father and I were able to see him on his birthday. So therefore, I wanted to do it big and give him the birthday he deserved!

I made his Army Tank Cake

Cake and Ice cream!

We invited all the family that we could. I planned weeks in advance to make it super speical for him. From what everyone has told me, I did excatly that!

One last surprise we had was waiting on him at home :)

His own Basketball Goal!

Active Weekend

This weekend we stayed very active! Friday, after I got Chandler from school we went to Landon's dad's house for a cook out. Landon's sister came into town from Texas. She brought with her, her husband and four boys. It was very humid out but we all stayed outside the whole time! Chandler and the boys played bad mitten. Austin stood in the yard and kept walking back and forth talking and yelling and pointing at everyone lol it was a fun day just so exhausting.

Saturday, Landon and Chandler played outside in the yard and built a fort. Chandler had army tanks and army men so daddy decided to build a big fort out of sticks. Austin and I went to Friendly to walk and look around.

Sunday, we got started early and we all went to Lowes. Then we came back and got ready for Nathan and Ryan and Ashtyn to come over to play. We stayed outside from 2-4, which was long enough! It was hot. The two boys had fun driving the jeep into the sprinkler and running around. Austin had his own little pool he was plashing around in, and of course the adults were trying to get some sun.

Over all we had a great weekend! I took a lot of mental pictures since my camera is still broke!

Bubble Boy

Austin has learned at 10 months old how to climb the couch and our bed. Both of which is NOT good. I definitely do not get a break. I can barely walk in the kitchen without having to run back in the living room just to release Austin's death grip on the couch as he is slinging his body onto the cushion. Sometimes I want to put him in a big bubble so I know he is safe. I can only imagine what the little booger will accomplish at one year old! He is already trying to do pull ups on the desk, kitchen table, chairs, and my legs. I feel that with the next child I will be more prepared and the next one can’t possibly be more active….right!?

Before N After

My husband and I have been talking for a while about putting down hardwood floors. We were told it's cheap and easy. We took that advice and picked out or floor we wanted.  We learned through this home renovation regardless how much you research and budget something WILL go wrong. So to make a very long story short it wasnt cheap and it wasnt easy! BUT we did get it down and it looks great :) We still have to do the molding, that will come in a couple days. But here is before and after shots.

The molding and re-arranging things is the only thing left :)

Starting something new

I think that if someone was to give me a hundred thousand dollars I would start my own business...now what business is that you might ask; well it would be something with decorating. I would most likely start my own cake business. I love to decorate cakes. I worked at an Ice Cream store for four years and in those four years I learned a little something about cakes and how to make flowers and borders. I was unaware until today that our Michaels Craft store has cake decorating classes. I am super excited and I am going to go for it! I know there are tons to learn about decorating cakes and I am egger to get started. My sister and I tease about her starting a photography business for weddings and I be in the business for wedding cakes. My sister is in the mix of turning that tease into a reality and I’d like to take some steps into making it a reality for me as well.
I am decorating my step son’s birthday cake for his party this month and I am really excited and want it to be perfect! I think this is my first chance to show people what I can do. I plan on posting pictures of the cake after the party to face book and my blog, now letting you know all about this is just putting more pressure on me for it to be perfect but I like a challenge! Can't wait to get started!
