Sleepless night

For the past couple of months I have been having trouble with Austin sleeping. Some nights during the week are just miserable! Some nights seem like we have a newborn again that we just brought home from the hospital because he gets up so much. I can't understand why a few days out of the week he sleeps pretty well, which my definition of sleeping well would probably not be the same as yours. My version of sleeping well is him waking up once or twice. But anyway I don't understand how one night he can sleep basically all night and then the next night get up 5 times. I have been told to let him "cry it out" So for the last couple of month’s every time I wake up in the middle night to his cry I say to myself, is this the night to let him "cry it out"? Every night that I awake to his cry I say not tonight maybe tomorrow. Part of me says well if I let him cry I won’t sleep regardless so I might as well get him. Then other part says well if you nip it in the bud there is a chance soon you could be sleeping through the night. It’s been a struggle for me. I hear from family and friends it’s the best thing to do. I know it’s the best thing to do. It’s just doing it!! Like every mother it breaks my heart to hear him crying because to me that means I need mommy! I guess one day this struggle will be no more, but until then I’ll be waking up with a battle in my mind and having more sleepless nights.

Scout

Austin was given this gift for Christmas by one if his Aunts. It’s a doggy named, Scout! It’s from Leap Frog which is an Educational Program for children. He received it when he was 4 months, so he did not have much to do with it. He would just stare at it. The cool thing about Scout is you can program in a color, an animal, a favorite food, and songs. Depending on how old your child is you can pick your child’s favorite things to program into Scout. So when he sings he says the color, animal, food in his songs. You can program your child’s name into him also. This is fun because Scout says, I love you Austin, or cuddle up Austin it’s sleepy time. Scout can play 5 minute, 10 minute, or 15 minute lullabies. Scout can spell out your child’s name in a song too. Scout can do allot of interesting things that will help your children learn and make them feel like Scout is a best friend. I did not have much use of his toy in the beginning but now that Austin is older he really likes Scout. He dances to the songs and smiles when Scout says his name! Scout rides with us in the car and occasionally I can hear Scout talking and then I hear Austin getting excited.

He tackled it! Just like a boy

Baby Steps

April 22nd was a long day for me. It was fun but just long! I went to the Zoo with some of my family and my sister's best friend and her little boy. We walked for 5 hours and completed 5 miles of the Zoo, which is all of it! My sister and I had debated if we would do our 20 minute workout since we had such a good walk at the Zoo needless to say we ended up saying we needed to do our workout. So when I got home I decided not to sit. Before my workout, that I knew I would have to MAKE myself do, I cleaned up a little bit. Unexpectedly my husband came home earlier than usual. I did my work out and was very tried, getting ill, and wanted to sleep. From being on my feet basically all day my mood was starting to go downhill. Then something amazing happened. I put Austin on the floor and sat in front of him, he was just standing like he always does but then something else happened...he took a step! And then another! He took two steps all by himself! I waved my hands and grabbed him up and kissed him. He must have known his mommy needed a lift in her spirit. Austin was so excited. Landon was on the couch and was able to see it too. Every time we tried after that Austin was just too excited to stand still lol you could see pure joy in his face. He was proud of himself, and so were we :)

Black Eye Pea

Austin has been getting more daring with trying to walk. It doesn't seem to faze him how high or hard or far an object if he wants it he will get it! But then this means he has more chance of getting hurt. Well this past weekend he got a black eye, scraped his lip and bruised his back! I feel like people might then I abused him! I love him for being determined but something’s he wants to get to are just crazy! He has climbed almost everywhere there is a hole. He is something else! I definitely have my hands full with this black eye pea!

30 Day Shred

I have decided that by Austin's birthday I will be a fit and lean, sexy momma machine! His birthday is in August so I have about 4 months. I have been doing a workout program called, 30 Day Shred. Every day I do an intense 20 minute workout. I have been doing it for 4 days total. With eating right and recently working out I have lost 6 pounds! That is exciting. I have a weight goal in my head and it is great to say that I am 6 pounds down. My sister is doing the same work out and I am glad because we can be motivation for each other

With having a baby I can come up with oh about a million reasons not to do it or to talk myself out of it when I am tired, but I am not! It is hard sometimes to work it in my day, but if I cannot do it while Austin sleeps then I must do it when he is awake. It makes it a lot harder because he is pulling at my pants or crawling over my tummy when I do sit ups but he can also be motivating. Like when I do jumping jacks he claps his hands. So far I feel stronger and I am excited to see the new me in a month.

MannLand5: Thursday Five!

Thursday Five!

Sharing five things that have brought me happiness this week is a great idea! Its a great way to reflect back on the week and smile again at all the precious moments.

1. I attended church this Wednesday. I usually don't make it out there for Wednesday's worship, but I felt like I needed to go. I am so glad I went. I took Austin with me and he stayed and played with Miss. Frances and I went to my Women's of Faith class. We received a book that we will follow for the next few months. I really enjoyed my class. There are allot of great women at my church. It is just a relief to hear there struggles and advice because you know that your not the only one that has obstacles that keep you fulling giving yourself to Christ. I walked away with a great book and a smile on my face.

2. As I work on the computer, Austin seems to sometimes really be able to entertain himself. I always keep an eye on him to make sure he does not get into anything he shouldn't be. He was playing and talking to himself like usual and I turned around to see what he was doing and he was sitting in his car seat. lol He looked so funny! He was just sitting in it and watching TV and talking up a storm. I thought to myself, now when I try and put him in it he screams but he just crawls right in there and stays for 20 mins. I couldn't help but laugh :)

3. I have been having a really hard time with Austin and him sleeping for the past 3 days. He would wake up at 1:00am and not return to sleep until 4:00am. That was putting a toll on my body, I was just so exhausted! Tuesday night my husband told me to go lay down and he would play with Austin for awhile. I usually can not leave the room or Austin will throw a fit but I managed to escape the living room and went to lay down in bed. I slept for over an hour. When I awoke my husband told me he had given Austin a bath and feed him and Austin was ready for bed. Normally at home I take charge most of the time so my husband doing this while I was asleep really made me feel great! So I just returned to bed and went to sleep.

4. I had Jury Duty this week. It was a long day but was so excited when they told us we could all go home because the last trail had been dismissed. I had already been there for 8 hours just sitting and working cross word puzzles, so these words made me feel such joy!

5. Monday I went to the Natural Science with my mom and sister. It is always so fun when we get together. Having little Grace and Austin together is just a great site! They love each other so much. After the Science Center we all decided we were hungry and we ate my favorite food, Japanese! It was delicious. I always love my time with my family. It brightness any drewy day.

Jury Duty

I had to go to Jury Duty yesterday, what an experience. If you have never been I’ll explain as best I can. I was in the room with 120 people. Occasionally, like every 3 hours, they would call out 30 names and those people would go to a trial and then from 30 they picked 12 people to actually sit and stay for that trail. I was one of the first "lucky" 30 people called. I went to a trail where the woman was raped. My heart dropped and I was unsure if I would be able to sit any longer. The lawyers got to ask you some personal questions to see if you would help their case or not. If they didn’t want you to be a part of the trail they would dismiss you. I was never dismissed but I ended up not having to stay and Jury. I was there from 7:30am - 3:30pm. Long day!

8 months

I have checked the calendar and checked my phone quite a few times today to make sure that the unbelievable has come true...our baby boy is 8 months today! He has learned so much and has surprised so many people. I would not be surprised if he started walking this month! Time has flown by and it scares me to think that just in 4 months I will planning a 1 year Birthday Party. I enjoy every moment with my little monster.

My Little Life

Five Question Friday from My Little Life: " seemed interresting!

1. Who would you want to play you in a movie of your life?

I have always like Jennifer Lopez. I think she is a all around talented person. She does movies, music, clothing line and I'm sure more. I think some our features are the same ;) I am nice but can be witchy, I think she would do a good job.

2. Did you ever go to summer camp?

I think so when I was younger. It was with our church. I went a couple summers.

3. What sends you running and screaming in the other direction?

When my huge dog drools! Its so nasty I want to throw up. I can deal with baby poop, drool, pee, and throw up but if Milla comes in from being outside and she has drool hanging from her mouth, I literally run and scream for Landon.

4. What is something you do that drives your spouse nuts?

The way I do dishes. He hates that I pile the dishes in both sinks. He thinks just leave one sink empty and put the dishes on the counter, well I think then the counter looks messy, so I just throw everything in the sinks and then clean the counter...and since our dish washer does not work and I am home now he goes nuts allot ;)

5. What is currently your favorite song?"

I like to listen to contemporary Christian music so I don't know the name or even the name, but the song is very inspiring.

Not the best morning

Today has not started off great. I have been up since 4:00am with a stuffy, running nose, headache, itchy and burning throat and my eyes are so tired. I am a mess! Unfortunately Austin does have a clue, so my patience level is a lot lower than usual but I am trying not to take it out on him. He doesn't know mommy is in pain and miserable. However, it is nice though when he does smile at me, for that one little second I forget about how I feel and my heart fills with love and I manage to smile back. Our children have a special place in our hearts and regardless how we feel at the moment when they show us love it’s impossible not to show it back.

Standing alone is not always a bad thing!

Yesterday I was standing in the living room mesmerized by one of Austin's crazy bizarre baby shows when I felt something attach to my leg, I looked down and there was Austin pulling up on my pant leg to stand. I decided I had, had enough of this show so I stepped back and there stood Austin, he was still standing! His feet were firmly planted on the ground and he was standing all by himself! He even could bend his knees at times to the music. I was amazed so I ran for the camera and took pictures and took a video. I was amazed at how long he stood by himself bouncing to the music. After about a good 20 seconds he went to his knees. I was a very proud momma at that moment :)

Mr. Hairdo

Austin is starting to get more hair...so that means I get to spike his hair! I have been excited about doing this because I love when little boys have their hair jelled. It is so adorable to me. This is what happens when mommy feels creative :)
